Wetlands
I just got my copy of Clifford Bernier’s Wetlands last week. I’m keeping it close by for when I want to wander out into the world of the James River and its environs. It’s a poetic landscape populated with small but mighty poems of natural and meditative beauty. Purchase Wetlands here.
To celebrate the release, I made a little video-reading of the poem, Riverbird, from the chapbook. I wanted to capture the bird’s inflight perspective as it sails over the river and surrounding countryside. Have a look:
The footage comes from the Desna river in Ukraine, a country that has shown courageous leadership in standing up for Democracy against tyrants of all stripes.
Parting Shots
As I write this on Thursday afternoon, I note that spring began this morning—at 5:01 am EDT to be exact. Later on I saw an army of daffodils in full formation at Brookside Gardens. Here’s some quick pics.
