An Everyday Renaissance
Some Photos From My Time in Florence
I’m writing this in an airport on my way back home. I hope to see many of your at my reading at the New Deal Cafe Saturday. I’ll be raising more money with Screens for Children, benefiting the children of the world who have been hurt by the cruel policies of the Trump administration. So far Screens for Children has raised over $1000.00 at local readings. Here’s the JustGiving website where you can donate or see the list of doners for Screens for Children. See Coming Up below for more information.
Florence, Italy: a City of Light & Magic
Okay, the magic of Florence cannot be perfectly rendered despite the army of artists who have tried. So here are two little galleries that suggest my favorite moments in the city that helped give birth to the modern world.

In addition to the works of the Renaissance greats, you’ll find some of the most remarkable streets you may ever have the pleasure to walk.

Preflight: Screens’ Prologue Poem
Before the formal sections of the book begin, you’ll find this small poem concerning the infinite fragility of the moment. Here’s a video reading.
I shot the video at Dulles Airport while waiting for my flight to Florence. It’s hard to think of a more enjoyable way to spend time in an airport.
Here’s the poem.

My thanks to Washington Writers Publishing House for publication of Preflight in the new anthology, America’s Future.
